She discusses assignments with her colleague Fiya, longing for a chance to work on a cover story featuring a South Indian celebrity she grew up with. Fiya speculates that a current meeting might be about a cover story, but Miraya dismisses the idea, believing such assignments are planned well in advance.

Miraya is called into Chief Editor Mrs. Nandhini's office. Mrs. Nandhini reveals that the planned cover model pulled out at the last minute and the Delhi unit has tasked their office with finding a replacement. Miraya is shocked by the short notice, but Mrs. Nandhini explains the need for the Chennai office to prove itself.

Mrs. Nandhini then offers Miraya the opportunity to write the cover story, citing her experience and talent. Miraya is thrilled, but her excitement is tempered when Mrs. Nandhini mentions other assignments, including covering a lavish party, which Miraya would have preferred. Mrs. Nandhini reveals Shreya and Varun will cover the party, further disappointing Miraya.

Just as she is about to leave, Miraya asks who the booked celebrity is. Mrs. Nandhini reveals it is Shray Nivas, a name that instantly drains all excitement and fills Miraya with dread and painful memories. She feels her soul leave her body, the name echoing in her mind.
