A loud bang of thunder startles you awake. Rain. Great. You had just straightened your hair yesterday, and now it's going to puff up like a lion's mane. With an annoyed grunt, you get out of bed and start getting ready for your first day at your new college.
You quickly get dressed, grab a raincoat, and head to the bathroom. Looking at your light brown skin in the reflection, you check for any obvious blemishes before applying light makeup. You skip across the hallway, passing your roommate Sam's room, making your way to the kitchen for a quick breakfast. Heading out the door, you call out, "Bye Sam, see you later," knowing he's most likely still asleep.
