The White Lady of Foggy Island

The ferry cut through the thick, milky-white fog like a ghost ship, carrying Liam and his family towards Eilean Ceòthach – The Foggy Island. A gust of wind shifted the mist, revealing a lighthouse piercing through the grey. Liam’s parents, full of excitement for their new life and his father’s otter research, were oblivious to the strange chill that settled on Liam as they approached the rugged coastline. Their new home, a small stone cottage perched high above the village of Cala, offered a breathtaking view of the sea and, more importantly, the ancient, mysterious Old Lighthouse. As Liam unpacked, he stumbled upon a hidden drawer containing a broken skeleton key, a seemingly insignificant object that immediately felt strangely important. That night, the lighthouse light seemed to call to him, and he had a vivid, unsettling dream of a woman in white walking towards the structure in the dark. The next morning, the dream lingered, and the broken key remained a tangible mystery in his pocket. The island's secrets, it seemed, were already reaching out to him.
