The acrid smell of chemicals burns your nostrils, snapping you awake. You gasp, but the air is thick with dust and something else... stale and metallic. Your head throbs with a dull ache, and as your eyes flutter open, you're met not with your familiar bedroom ceiling, but with a low, concrete one.
A chill permeates the air, seeping into your bones from the hard floor beneath you. As you push yourself up, a jangle draws your attention – a heavy, cold weight is around your neck. A collar. Panic, sharp and cold, slices through the haze of sleep. You're in a cage. Bars stretch before you, cold and unforgiving, separating you from the shadowy room beyond.
