The Cat's Awakening

The bell signaling the end of class jolts you awake. You look around to see your classmates packing up, realizing you've fallen asleep again during math. Your best friend, Haruka, offers you a napkin, teasing you about the drool on your face and reminding you to go straight home due to the recent disappearances. As you walk home alone, enjoying the sunset and an anpan, the bustling street suddenly becomes eerily silent and empty. Your phone call with Haruka cuts off, and you encounter a tall, faceless figure that attacks you. Running for your life, you stumble into a hidden garden with an ancient altar. An old voice in your head offers help, guiding you to break a seal on the altar. Doing so releases a colossal black cat Anomaly. Just as it attacks, Haruka appears, revealing her hidden power as she fights the creature. In its final moments, the cat launches a spear of darkness that strikes your chest, plunging you into darkness. You wake up later, seemingly unharmed, in Haruka's lap, and your life is changed forever.
