The world is a dark place, filled with monsters. I've seen them my whole life, starting when I was just a kid.
It took me a month to find the last one – a wolf in sheep's clothing, a beautiful English Literature teacher who murdered six kids. The night I finally caught her, she looked at me and I saw something that scared me. Something familiar.
“I guess I picked the wrong side to play for, huh?” she asked as they led her away.
That night, the chief called me into his office. I knew what was coming. "I'm benching you for a while, Madison."
And then came the inevitable: "I need you to consider a partner."
