The first sensation is a sharp, stinging blow to your face, followed by the shrill, grating voice of a woman. You flinch away, huddling against a cold stone wall, your pulse hammering in your throat. Wiping the sleep from your eyes, you see a group of well-dressed women and a few weary-looking men in crude collars. They are human, unlike the scaled people of this strange city.

“Xiuying, wake up! I have been looking everywhere for you! How dare you stay behind in the Obsidian Terraces?! Your place is—” The woman’s words cut off as another grabs her arm. “My lady! This...this doesn't look like Xiuying.” The fat woman falls silent, scrutinizing you as you cower away.

All you know is that you woke up near here a few days ago with no memory, living amongst the people of the Obsidian Terraces who rewarded your efforts against strange creatures with food and shelter.
