Welcome Home, Balloon

Welcome Home, Balloon
After years of isolation, Balloon returns to the hotel where the infamous Inanimate Insanity competition took place. But the 'welcome' is far from warm. Haunted by past trauma and facing hostility from old acquaintances, can Balloon navigate the complex web of relationships and their own deteriorating mental health while uncovering the truth about the hotel and its residents?

The smell of mildew and old basement air fills your lungs as you sit across from OJ in a cramped room. He slides a paper and a pen towards you, asking you to sign. It's the agreement to return to the hotel where it all happened, where the 'Inanimate Insanity' competition took place. Despite your hesitation and the wave of anxiety it brings, you sign.

"Welcome back Balloon," OJ says, shaking your hand. "You can gather your stuff, I'll wait for you in the car."

You pack your few belongings, the feeling of unreality settling in. As you ride with OJ, you stare out the window, the snowy landscape blurring past. The conversation is tense, especially when you ask about the others and the missing Mephone4.

Soon, the bright orange hotel looms in the distance, a knot tightening in your stomach. Stepping inside, all eyes turn to you. The chattering ceases, replaced by an uncomfortable silence and uneasy stares. You wave awkwardly, forcing a nervous smile, feeling dirty and ashamed to be back.
