Pumpkin Patch Princess

Deep within the Kingdom of Indigo, young Noelle Simpkins lives a life dictated by her family's legacy: tending to their world-famous pumpkins and crafting exquisite shoes. But beneath the surface of this seemingly idyllic existence, Noelle yearns for something more, a world beyond her familiar patch. A hidden desire sparks a secret job hunt, leading her to a mysterious organization that promises to fulfill wishes, but at what cost? Unbeknownst to Noelle, her quest for a new life will unveil hidden truths about her family, the magical world around her, and the destiny she never knew she was born for.
Sunday morning, just as the sun began to peek over the hills, I crept out of my room. My pants snagged on the stairway railing, nearly sending me tumbling. "Is that you, Noelle?" my dad's drowsy voice called out. "Fishing with Geoff, Dad," I lied, my heart pounding. "I'll be back for breakfast." He grumbled about flounder, and soon his beached-whale snores joined Mom's snuffling. They were the famous Simpkins, but only I saw this undignified side. I felt a pang of guilt stepping onto the porch, knowing I wasn't going fishing. I was sneaking out to the library, hoping to find a job that would free me from a life of pumps and pumpkins.
