FIRE ON FIRE

FIRE ON FIRE
In the brutal world of Panem, the annual Hunger Games force teenagers from the districts to fight to the death. For Lilia Conway of District 4, a skilled fisher and survivor, the ocean's calm is a fragile peace. When her name is reaped, alongside her childhood friend Adrian, she must confront the horrifying reality of the arena. But within the Capitol's gilded cage and the deadly game, unexpected alliances form, and the line between enemy and ally blurs. In the heart of the inferno, can Lilia find a way to survive, or will the fire consume her?

The scent of salt and sea is the smell of home in District 4. Lilia Conway stands on the beach, the setting sun painting the sky in fiery hues, her feet sinking into the cool sand.

“Lilia Conway!” A familiar shout cuts through the peace. It's Finnick Odair, jogging towards her, his blonde hair tousled by the wind.

“Dinner's ready,” he calls, his green eyes sparkling.

Lilia smiles but pleads, “Just a few more minutes.”

Finnick shakes his head with a smile. “You said that five minutes ago. Come on, everyone's waiting.”

Reluctantly, Lilia turns from the ocean, following Finnick towards her house, the aroma of her mother's seafood pasta drawing them in. Inside, her parents, Adrian, and Maya are waiting, the warmth of family and friendship a temporary shield against the looming dread of the Reaping.
