The Scent of Truth

She loved him with all her heart, but he refused to listen. He accused her of betrayal, fixated only on the unique scent of her creams. In a desperate final attempt to bridge the chasm of misunderstanding, she went to him, only to find him with another. His harsh words and disbelief shatter her resolve. Now, she must choose: stay and fight for a love based on scent, or leave and find a place to heal her broken heart.
The mountain air was crisp, but the chill in your heart was colder. You watched Can and Polen by the hut, his head bent as she spoke.
You had come to talk, to explain, one last time. But her words, clear even from a distance, cut through the air: "...it might be best if they go away together?"
Shock froze you. Then, Can looked up and saw you. He called your name, and they both walked towards you, a silent accusation in his eyes, a smirk on her face.
