The Swift Apocalypse

It started as an April Fool's joke, a supposed hack of news stations. But the images on screen weren't fake. They were real, terrifying glimpses of a rapidly spreading rabies-like virus turning people into bloodthirsty, relentless creatures. Now, the world is collapsing, overrun by zombies that defy Hollywood's rules. In the chaos, a small town woman, her friends, and a desperate group of survivors seek refuge in a military base, hoping for safety in a world gone mad. But even within the walls, the true horrors of the apocalypse, including a terrifying new variant of the infected, are just beginning.
The first day of April. A normal Saturday morning, scrambling eggs for breakfast. Your phone rings, it’s your friend Kailey, overexcitable as usual.
"I can't believe it! Diane, do you see this?!"
You roll your eyes, assuming another April Fool's prank. "See what?"
"Turn the TV on to the news. You are not going to believe this..."
You head into the living room, pull the eggs off the burner, and turn on the TV. The screen fills with terrifying images of people attacking each other like rabid animals. Gunfire erupts.
Zombies. It can't be real, can it? Not today. Not April Fool's Day.
