The online world had turned upside down, dragging your private life into the harsh glare of public scrutiny. Someone leaked a picture of you and Ethan, and just like that, your carefully constructed walls crumbled.
"JAY!" Audreyβs panicked voice ripped you from the numb haze. Your manager stood in the doorway of your rented LA office, eyes wide with alarm.
"Hey Audrey," you mumbled, pinching the bridge of your nose, a headache already brewing. Then you saw her face, the genuine fear etched there.
"What's wrong, Audrey?" you asked, concern finally cutting through the fog. "Are you okay?"
She shook her head, swallowing thickly, unable to speak for a moment.
"Okay, it's okay, just breathe," you soothed, getting up to approach her. She took a shaky breath, and the words tumbled out.
"Someone leaked it. Someone leaked a picture of you and Ethan."
