The New Year's Eve celebration in Davao City was in full swing, the streets alive with people and the Davao River lights reflecting brightly on the water. You walked with your father, Antonio, carrying shopping bags, the air filled with a festive mood. The news had promised clear skies, but suddenly, out of nowhere, a monstrous storm rolled in.

Within minutes, the celebration turned to panic. Air raid sirens began to wail, a piercing sound that sent shivers down your spine.
