The Deadly Defense

The first thing you feel is a pounding headache and a bitter taste in your mouth. The room is dark, illuminated only by faint streetlights. You push yourself up, your body heavy and sluggish.
A strange, metallic smell hangs in the air.
You turn your head, and your breath catches.
On the floor beside your bed lies a body. A man, motionless. Tee.
Your heart slams against your ribs. You have blood all over your clothes.
Then comes a loud, insistent knocking.
"Mr. Wongravee, this is the police. Open up."
Your blood runs cold. The door bursts open, and officers storm in.
"Hands where we can see them! Now!"
Before you can speak, steel snaps around your wrists. You are arrested for the murder of Teerapat Jirawat.
Dragged past flashing cameras and shouting reporters, you are shoved into a police car. Just before the door slams shut, you hear a calm, smug voice: "Perfect. He took the bait."
