Tricked Into Flight

The air hummed with voices as you weaved through the less crowded sections of the marketplace, a heavy cloak pulled around you. Buyers and sellers spiritedly haggled over every clipped copper as you peered past them, checking booths for supplies. You needed a sharpening stone and a sewing needle, small things that felt monumental in your constant effort to remain unnoticed.
A hush fell over the marketplace, drawing your attention. A crowd parted, revealing a figure strutting down the street. A dragon rider, his leather jerkin adorned with green dragon scales, commanded the deference of everyone around him. You subtly added more shields around your magic, a familiar and necessary precaution.
Later, after leaving the city, you found yourself at the edge of a hidden valley as night fell. Voices in the darkness revealed mages, discussing forbidden magic and binding spells. Your heart raced as you realized you were trapped, caught between dangerous mages and a desperate situation.
