Her Guardian

The air was thick with unspoken threats and the scent of expensive cologne. Serenity trembled, her eyes wide with fear as the man before her, Ares, stared her down. His presence was overwhelming, a force of nature she was completely unprepared for. Every instinct screamed at her to run, but she was frozen in place, trapped by his intense gaze and the sheer weight of his authority.
"Don't touch me," he growled, his voice low and dangerous, "I don't know what I'll do if you touch me."
Her heart hammered against her ribs. This man was terrifying, a stark contrast to anything she had ever known. She swallowed hard, trying to find her voice, trying to understand how she had ended up in this terrifying situation.
"I don't want to see you like this," she whispered, the words barely audible, her voice trembling. Hesitantly, she reached out a hand towards his shoulder, a small gesture of fear mixed with a strange, naive concern.
His eyes narrowed, and before she could fully register what was happening, his hand shot out, grabbing hers tightly. The grip was firm, possessive, yet surprisingly gentle. A shiver ran down her spine, a confusing mix of fear and something else she couldn't name.
"Fuck it," he murmured, his voice rough, as he released her hand and cupped her jaw, his gaze locked on hers. And then, his lips were on hers, a kiss that was both demanding and desperate, pulling her further into his dangerous world.
