On the 11th of November, 1918, two significant events occurred: the end of the First World War and my immortal binding to this earth. An ancient order, Paragon, undying beings who've mastered mortal arts, intervened. For over a century, I've been one of them, maintaining order. Yet, our perfection comes at a price: blood. This need makes us lesser. I've chosen not to be a monster, but a force for good, operating in the shadows to keep the world in the light. Now, as a detective in London, I hunt the darkness that mortals cannot perceive.
The scent of coffee hangs in the cold London air as you approach the police vehicle. Your partner, Will, is already inside, sifting through case files.
“You know I think they get more reckless every year,” Will says without looking up, gesturing towards a cup. “These lads aren't even trying to hide the action in Seven Sisters anymore—that one is yours—”.
You slide into the driver's seat, adjusting your long winter trench coat, the familiar hum of the city a low thrum beneath your enhanced senses. The dull ache of thirst is present but controlled. Crime is rampant, but you are here to end it, one case at a time.
