Samurai of the Western Capital

Samurai of the Western Capital
San Francisco, 1854. The Gold Rush era. Framed for her uncle's murder, Lottie, a skilled and resourceful woman, finds herself on the run. Her only hope? A mysterious ship bound for the isolated islands of Japan, a place shrouded in secrecy and ancient traditions. Can she escape her past and forge a new destiny in a land she knows nothing about? Or will the secrets of the 'Western Capital' swallow her whole?

San Francisco, 1854. The air hangs heavy with the scent of saltwater, sweat, and desperation. You ride into town on an exhausted horse, your clothes caked in mud and dust, a far cry from the prosperity you once knew. The Gold Rush has brought fortune to few and ruin to many, and now you are among the latter, on the run for a crime you did not commit. The only sanctuary you can think of is Mama-San's pleasure house in Chinatown, a place where discretion is valued.

As you step through the door, the cacophony of sounds and smells assaults your senses. Mama-San greets you with a knowing smile, acknowledging the unspoken trouble that follows you. A bath, a moment of respite, and the weight of your uncle's death presses down. He taught you everything, and now he's gone, and you're blamed.

But self-pity is a luxury you cannot afford. You need to disappear, and fast. The news of the murder will reach San Francisco, bringing with it the 'WANTED' posters with your face. Escape by sea seems the only option, but where to go? Mama-San speaks of a ship, one heading west, towards the islands of Japan.
