A la Carte
Charlotte's life is a juggling act of demanding shifts at a bustling New York bistro and a quiet bookstore, a struggle to make ends meet in a city that never sleeps. But when a chance encounter with a captivating, mysterious man at the bistro throws her meticulously planned life into disarray, she finds herself drawn into a world of unexpected encounters, tantalizing secrets, and a simmering tension that threatens to unravel everything she thought she knew. Will she find her footing amidst the chaos, or will she be swept away by the alluring currents of fate?

The loud sound of the garbage bag hitting the side of the container was enough to wake Charlotte up. She sighed and heaved the other black bag up and over, dusting herself off before tugging her uniform down. She re-entered the Bistro. The kitchen was still bustling, even after an hour and a half of being closed, Chef Parker's orders a little less ferocious than before.

Charlotte picked up a cloth and headed to the front where she was needed. Matt, Andrew, and Stefan were busy cleaning tables, folding cloths, and stacking chairs, while Harriet, the older, friendlier waitress, swept the floor. Perry and Charlotte were on salt and pepper shaker duty, cleaning and refilling them for the next day.
