Zimunda: Great Garden

Zimunda: Great Garden
In the sun-drenched Kingdom of Zimunda, meaning 'Great Garden,' life is simple and sweet. Five-year-old Nothando revels in the warmth of family, the taste of fresh mangoes, and the joy of playing with cousins. But as she prepares to join the village school, alongside the Chief's son, new experiences and the vast world beyond the village edge beckon. What adventures await Nothando in the Great Garden?

The sun beats down on the Kingdom of Zimunda, warming the earth. You, Nothando, a lively five-year-old, are in the maize fields with your mother and aunts. You watch from high in a tree, eying a ripe mango, until your mother's call brings you back to the ground. After enjoying the sweet fruit, you fetch water from the river stream. As sunset paints the sky, you return to the village, the smell of cooking fire welcoming you home. Your father arrives, back from fishing, and the family shares a meal. Later, tucked in with your cousin sisters, the drumming of rain on the hut roof lulls you to sleep, the soothing smell of wet earth filling the air.
